MY JOURNEY

I’ve moved 18 times in the past 15 years – between dorm rooms, shared apartments, overseas, and to cities all around the US. For years, I treated each place as temporary and hesitated to invest much time or money into making it feel like home.

Over time, I realized how much my space shaped the way I felt day to day.

I started learning how to create homes that felt calm, warm, and functional without needing endless storage bins or a huge budget — investing in a few meaningful pieces, thrifting when possible, and designing systems that worked for whichever stage of life I was in.

What began as a personal necessity slowly became something friends and family started asking for help with: unpacking after moves, organizing overwhelming spaces, refreshing rooms that lacked character, and creating homes that felt easier to live in.

Today, Homeset Studio helps people create spaces that reduce friction and mental clutter while still feeling personal, comfortable, and lived in.

Less overwhelm. More flow. More room for the parts of life that matter most.

Caroline Joyce holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of California Davis, where her work focused on food systems, nutrition, and the social and environmental factors that influence health behaviors. That experience reinforced something she experienced in her own life too: that our environment shapes how we feel, function, and move through the day.

That perspective now shapes the way she approaches homes: creating spaces that reduce stress and are easy to maintain.
